Money In The Bank

Team South Burnett has just celebrated their first milestone, by cracking open the Peanut Van's new Christmas champagne bottles... filled with sugared peanuts.

Kingaroy's iconic Peanut Van has jumped on board as the team's first partner, by presenting them with a cheque. The sponsorship will allow the team to open a bank account in support of their quest to represent the South Burnett at the 2007 LifeStyle FOOD Channel Australian Regional Culinary Competition, held in Adelaide.

Rob Patch (pictured above) said, "I'm pleased to support anything that promotes my region in a positive way, and I see the Team South Burnett project as the perfect vehicle".

The team will also utilise a 'World-first' peanut product in their menu, and anticipate that it will wow the judges at the competition.

Team Captain Jason Ford said, "We visited Rob at his idyllic farm, located just outside of Kingaroy, to talk about peanuts and we were overwhelmed when he handed over a generous cheque".

Team South Burnett anticipates they will require at least $15,000 in partnerships, to succeed against more well-known regions, such as Barossa, Hunter Valley and the Granite Belt.
