The Search Has Ended

Team South Burnett's long search to complete their culinary quartet, has concluded with the discovery of talented apprentice chef Matthew McMurdy (*pictured above).
Matthew demonstrated a standout performance amongst a field of eight competitors at the PCA South Burnett Culinary Competition held earlier this month. With the competition judging panel praising him for his professional culinary skills, he was awarded the apprentice encouragement prize.
The 18 year-old is employed as a first year apprentice chef at Kingaroy's iconic Bell Tower Restaurant, and trains under the watchful eye of Chef/Owner Brad Clark.
Matthew will now go on to compete alongside Team South Burnett members Jason Ford, Steve Gudzinski and Helen Pratt when they travel to Adelaide in October for the LifeStyle FOOD Channel Australian Regional Culinary Competition.
Team Captain Jason Ford said," Matthew is one cool character - he's a gifted and level-headed apprentice, who’ll be a valuable addition to Team South Burnett".
