Food and Wine Celebrities Praise Team's Menu
A panel of respected Queensland food and wine experts were treated to a sneak peak of Team South Burnett's competition menu, ahead of next month's the LifeStyle FOOD Channel Australian Regional Culinary Competition.
Brett's Wharf Restaurant Executive Chef and Ready, Steady, Cook TV celebrity Alastair McLeod was joined by Master of Wine Mr Peter Scudamore-Smith (pictured above), and Food Consultant Mr Michael Foernander, to taste a three-course menu showcasing South Burnett regional produce and wine.
The menu tasting gave the team of South Burnett chefs an opportunity assess how they'd perform under the tight three-hour time constraints, required at the competition.
Team Captain Jason Ford said,"As a time trial, it was a great opportunity to see if we could get everything done in time. We made it, but at the same time we had a couple of things not turn out perfect".
"But it's during the practice sessions that we want the problems to occur, then we can iron-out all the issues before we compete in Adelaide. After a couple more practices, we're confident we'll perform seemlessly at the competition".
"The feedback from the tasting panel was overall very positive, and they all had invaluable advice on how we could make the most of our menu and wine matches", Jason said.
